TOOLS Tools

The gap between humans and technology has been getting smaller with global integration of tech into society. Phones, Watches, Fridges, Cars and more have become “Smart”. This increases our ability to track and create statistics about our lives. The applications listed below all use or allow for the use of gamification methods. These have been tested by me (Klevinup) and my review is compiled in the form of a playing card, with strengths and weaknesses displayed so that you can quickly find what you need.  Please feel free to argue with my rating, send me an email, my contact form is below each page. 😀

Google Calendar

Application:- Google - Calendar

Google calendar is very simple and well established calendar application. There are many integration possibilities, which make this app quite popular, even for business. You can share calendars and add features through addons from which there are hundreds. The app can be downloaded or accessed over a browser making it extremely accessible.

In my attempts to use google calendar for gamification purposes, I found it actually quite pleasant. It is a very visual experience and offers a beautiful overview of your week. If you are interested in analyzing your data you will need to find an appropriate add on like “Time Navi” for example. I still need to find the best way to actually gamify the calendar but I see a lot of potential here. – Klevinup

Habithub

Application - Habithub - Habit Tracking App

Habithub is based on Seinfeld’s productivity secret – Don’t break the chain! Every time you do a habit, your chain grows longer. Eventually you will build a very long chain. Your only job now, is to keep the chain growing. –The Habithub

This app is very specifically made to keep track of habit chains. The design is clean and easy to read, very nice design! I wish one could also add more details to your habits like keeping track of the time you did something or how much I did something, but this simplistic approach is very useful for most use cases. Having a leaderboard to invite friends would be a great addition

Notion

Application - Notion - Organize Your Work

Notion is a database management tool and has captured my heart. This application can be used in so many ways. Not only does it have a bunch of templates to choose from but you can also  integrate other apps like Miro for mindmapping. Notion is the most viable tool for having all your gamification take place in the same spot. The possibilities here are basically limitless as long as you can program it. Additionally, there are many users that share their information, templates and widgets for free. I love it and you should at least check it out.

Octalysis Prime

Website - Octalysis Prime - Gamification Information

Octalysis Prime contains lots of information on gamification and really gives you insight on how to apply the frame work created by the creator Yu-Kai Chou. This website is easy to use, and gives you information at a good pace. If your looking for an actual tool to gamify your life, then this is not the right one, but it will definitely give you quality information on gamification. Yu-Kai often mentions business application in his explanations. Good place to start.

I never tried the premium but apparently there are Live Coaching Sessions I will test this out in the future and update the review then.
